Union Home Minister, Amit Shah Assures “Andolan” and “Atankwad” Mukth Assam before 2024;

During the two-day visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the Northeast, the Home Minister assured that Assam will be” Andolan” (Agitation) and “Atankwad” (Terrorism)  free within 2024. ‘BJP’s win in the March- April election in Assam indicated that the people of the state had chosen development’ said the Union Home Minister.

On Sunday in a public event held at Guwahati, Mr. Shah said thousands of youths of Assam had lost their lives while agitating but the state got nothing except losing lives. He further added ‘My analysis of our party forming the government for the second term is that Assam has given a mandate against Andolan (Agitation) and Atankwad (terrorism) and chose the path of development. This was his first visit to Assam after the second consecutive win by his party in Assam.

Mr. Shah also stated that “Assam witnessed the emergence of several new parties during the last election held in the state, and they also tried hard to prove themselves to the voters. But the people of Assam remained with BJP because they want their state to develop”.

Mr. Shah had also promised that all the clauses of the Bodoland Accord that was signed in January last year will be implemented before 2024.

During his two-day visit in the Northeast States of India i.e. on the 24th and 25th July 2021. He had visited Meghalaya on the first day of his visit on the 24th of July where he inaugurated the inter-state bus terminus at Mawlai- Mawiong on the outskirts of Shillong town.

On 25th July Sunday, he had also inaugurated a water supply project in Sohra planned to benefit over 20,000 people in East Khasi Hills in the Presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and other dignitaries.

‘The Greater Sohra Water Supply Scheme’ formulated by the state government and funded by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), will incur an expenditure of 24.08 crores, according to the official sources.

DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy, MoS DoNER B L Verma and MoS Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, and PHE Minister Renikton Lyndoh were also present during the inauguration.

While addressing Union Home Minister said that Narendra Modi Government is taking all necessary steps to provide drinking water to every household.

He added if people do not get pure drinking water then they may fall ill, and compromising on the health of the citizens can not be taken.

‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to fulfill his target of providing pure drinking water to every household before India celebrates its 75th Independence Day’ he stated.

”As a part of the Prime Minister’s ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ the DoNER Ministry along with the State government is giving shape to the project, which will enable people of the state to get pure drinking water through the tap”  Mr. Shah added.

Further, he had also launched a joint initiative of the Assam Rifles and the State government ‘Sohra Afforestation Project’ on Sunday afternoon.
