Rain has been pouring incessantly in south India for the past few days, wreaking devastation and claiming lives. Many poor individuals who lived in huts and along the coast were relocated to relief centers. A disaster response operation is underway.
Meanwhile, red alerts have been issued for Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, and Karaikal for today; Cuddalore, Viluppuram, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, and Karaikal for tomorrow; and Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Viluppuram, and Tiruvannamalai on the 11th: Dr. S Balachandran, DDGM stated heavy rain is forecast in certain areas today; heavy to very severe rain is likely tomorrow, and extremely heavy rain is expected the day following.
From November 9 to 11, fishermen are warned from going to the coasts of south Andhra Pradesh, Tennessee, and Sri Lanka. MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, visits and assesses the situation in rain-stricken and water-logged areas, as well as distributing food across the city.
