PM-DevlNE Programme: Rs 6600 Cr Scheme for Northeast India

The new PM-DevINE programme received the seal of approval from the union government. Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for the North East Region is what it is called. Additionally, it was revealed at the start of this year. The Central Sector Scheme that funds the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for the North East Region receives all of its funding from the federal government. The remaining four years of the 15th Finance Commission are when this plan will be put into action. Accordingly, the plan will be in effect from the 2022–2023 fiscal year through the 2025–2026 fiscal year. This will permit an expenditure of Rs. 6,600 crore over this period.
The Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER), through the North Eastern Council, or central ministries and agencies, will carry out the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for the North East Region. In order to avoid committed liabilities beyond this year, steps will be taken to finish the projects by the financial year 2025–2026.
According to a statement from DoNER, “The parameters of N-E states with regard to Basic Minimum Services (BMS) are well below the national average and there are critical development gaps as per the NER District Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index 2021-22 prepared by NITI Aayog, UNDP, and MDoNER.”
