The health department official said, Mizoram on Monday reported 541 new Covid19 cases, pushing the state’s positive tally to 71,381.
However, the number of new positive cases was comparatively less by 548 cases than the previous day, he said.
The single-day infection rate also rose to 31% against 13.98% on Sunday as the fresh cases were detected from 1,744 sample tests, he said.
It is also reported two more fatalities in the last 24 hours, which took the death toll to 238.
At least 123 children were among the newly-infected people, the official said, adding that all the new patients were found to have contracted the disease locally.
According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi, over 6.63 lakh people have been vaccinated till Saturday, of which 2.98 lakh have received full doses.
