“I am extremely happy,” says Lionel Messi but his tears were not hidden

Lionel Messi says he “is extremely happy” after joining Paris Saint-German.

“I have said my dream is to win another Champions League and I think I’m in the ideal place to have that chance and to do it,” he said as he was unveiled as a PSG player.

Lionel Messi also said on Wednesday he is “dreaming” of winning a fifth Champions League after signing a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

“When you see this squad, you want to play with them because there are so many possibilities,” he added. “We have the same goal. And Neymar of course did a lot and was important for my choice.”

“I’m going to play with the best players, it’s very nice, it’s incredible to be able to experience this,” said Messi, who also cited Argentina teammates and PSG players Ángel di Maria and Leandro Paredes.

The 34 years sports star was in tears when hold a press conference at Camp Nou to bid farewell to Barcelona a few days ago. Messi looked extremely upset as he stood up to face the press at the start of his press conference, taking tissue from his wife as he received a round of applause from all those in the Camp Nou press room.

The Argentine legend also confirmed he wanted to stay at Barca, but will be leaving after a new contract was impossible to sign due to LaLiga regulations and the club’s precarious financial state.

He further added an emotional note as he said, “We’d always made this our own, we were at home. We thought we would be staying here in Barcelona. But today, we have to say goodbye to all of this.”

However, after he signed a contract with the PSG, a Press Conference was hosted by PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Lionel Messi on Wednesday when Messi said, “he is extremely happy to join PSG”.

 The six-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a two-year contract with PSG on Tuesday and will wear the number 30 shirt.
