Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh officially resigns from Congress .

Captain Amarinder Singh who was the EX Chief Minister of Punjab , over a month after he resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab now has officially announced resignation from Congress , wrote a seven-page resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

In the letter, Captain Amarinder Singh wrote that  “I actually felt deeply hurt by your conduct and that of your children who I still deeply love as much as my own children, having known their father, since we were in school together since 1954, which is for 67 years now.”

He also referred to Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu as “an acolyte of the Pakistani deep state” and Congress party’s general secretary in charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat, as “perhaps the most dubious individual” he made the acquaintance of.

Singh resigned as chief minister of Punjab on September 18 following a prolonged tussle with state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. At the time of tendering his resignation to the Governor, Captain Amarinder Singh had said that he felt “humiliated” by the tacit support Congress party’s national leadership extended to Sidhu.
