COVID 19; AFFECTING MORE CHILDREN IN MIZORAM

According to a health department official as on Friday 16th July, 456 more people were affected by the Covid 19 virus including over 100 children who tested positive in Mizoram, the state has witnessed one more death taking the toll to 117.
The 456 fresh cases which have been reported are from the various districts with Aizwal reported the maximum number of positive cases with 271 fresh cases, followed by 62 new cases in Kolasib and 58 new positive cases in Lunglei district.
It is a matter of concern that children are being affected more by the virus in the State. It has been said by experts that the third wave may affect children severely but even the second wave is also not sparing the kids.
Out of the 456 fresh cases, 87 new cases were confirmed through the RT-PCR test in Zoram Medical College (ZMC), 26 new cases were detected through TrueNat facilities and the remaining 343 new cases have been confirmed through the Rapid Antigen Test.
The total count of Covid 19 cases in Mizoram has reached 26,207 cases and 117 people have lost their battle against covid in the state so far.
The Covid situation in Northeast India is a matter of concern as the cases are increasing every single day.
