Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh stopped at Lucknow Airport; Questions CM Yogi

Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, began a sit-in protest at the Lucknow airport this afternoon after being halted by state police amid huge protests in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur district, around 130 kilometres distant.
Mr Baghel stated that he wished to meet Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has been held in police custody in Sitapur since yesterday. She claimed she was “illegally” detained while on her way to Lakhimpur to meet those impacted by the violence on Sunday, and she challenged the Uttar Pradesh administration to hold her in detention “indefinitely.”
“I travelled to Lucknow with the intention of meeting Priyanka Gandhi ji at Sitapur. However, I am not permitted to leave the airport “The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh stated.
“Without any instruction, I am being halted outside the Lucknow airport,” the 60-year-old leader wrote in Hindi in a tweet.
In addition, the Congressman uploaded a nearly one-minute video in which he can be heard questioning officials. “Dhara 144 to Lakhimpur is my destination. Jaa nahi rahe hain hum Lakhimpur. Is there a problem? (We are not going to Lakhimpur because of the prohibition orders.) So, what’s the issue? “He inquires of a cop.
A farmers’ demonstration against the BJP in Lakhimpur became violent on Sunday, killing eight people, including four farmers, when a car ran them over.
Since Sunday, many opposition leaders have been barred from entering the UP district.
In the wake of the outcry, a murder investigation was launched, with Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish, listed as the only suspect. Farmers claimed he was behind the wheel.
In another tweet, the Chief Minister wrote in Hindi, “I had heard much about Lucknow’s renowned culture, but what I have witnessed today in airport is just the contrary, What have you done Yogi ji”.
