British Socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, Sentenced To 20 Years After The Conviction In 5 Charges
On Tuesday, 28 June, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison during a hearing in Brooklyn, New York. The other predator then boyfriend who she was help recruiting underaged girls Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 at age 66 while awaiting his own sex trafficking trial.
A 60-year-old has been convicted on December 29, 2021, with five criminal charges, including sex trafficking, for recruiting and grooming four girls for Jeffrey Epstein to abuse.
The Prosecutors were initially seeking a sentence of at least 30 years for Maxwell over the carrying out a years-long scheme with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse underage girls.
Judge Alison Nathan said Maxwell was “instrumental” in the scheme of sexual abuse of underage girls and at times “participated in that abuse.” The sentence must “reflect the severity of her crimes” and the “lasting harm they have caused.”
