Ban on Pitbull, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino dogs in Ghaziabad, UP: Learn why

Pitbull, Rottweiler, and Dogo Argentino breeds have been outlawed in Ghaziabad due to complaints of attacks by these vicious dog species. The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has taken the necessary action. The city authority released a number of additional rules for pet owners on Saturday, including the requirement that they obtain a dog license, which will be granted starting in November, and that no family may own more than one pet dog.

High-rise apartment complex residents with pets must make sure their canines are muzzled when out in public and use service lifts to transport them. The choice was made in light of recent reports of several dog bite incidents in the city’s diverse neighborhoods. The pet owners must register their pets within two months.

“Pitbulls, Rottweilers, and Dogo Argentinos are three aggressive (khoonkhar) breeds, and keeping these dogs is not permitted. No permit will be given out. Someone will be accountable if they purchase one of these. In Ghaziabad, these three species are all prohibited “stated Sanjay Singh, a BJP leader and GMC council member, according to PTI on Sunday.

Those who currently own certain breeds of dogs must sterilize them within two months.
According to Mayor Asha Sharma, “The civic organization’s board meeting on Saturday ruled that sterilizing canines was mandatory. Registration of certificates won’t be allowed without sterilizing.”

“If the dog is under six months old, the owner will need to file an affidavit with a guarantee that they will have the animal sterilized when he reaches that age,” she continued.

If complaints are received from the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA), the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) will penalize dog owners, she stated.
