At least 12 feared dead in road accident in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun

At least 12 people are believed to have been killed in a vehicle accident on the Bulhad-Baila route in the Chakrata tehsil of Uttarakhand’s Dehradun district on Sunday. At least four more people were hurt, according to sources familiar with the situation. The search and rescue operation is underway.

Chakrata sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) rushed to the spot along with local police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). More reports are awaited

  Road accidents are on the rise these days, and several people have died as a result. During a training course for teachers organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training at Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar, noted orthopedic surgeon and Padma Shri awardee Dr. BKS Sanjay remarked according to the WHO 2019 report, one out of every three road traffic accident victims dies, despite the fact that only one out of every 100 people infected with Covid-19 died.

He claimed that, same to how the Covid pandemic has afflicted the entire world, many individuals are killed in road traffic accidents. He emphasized the importance of taking precautionary measures to avoid such accidents.
