A man Dies falling from 19th Floor as Fire Broke out in the 64 Storey Building; Mumbai

There was a horrible and sad incident that occurred on Friday at midday, a massive fire broke out at the Avighna Park building on Currey Road in Mumbai. The fire started on the 19th floor of the 60-storey structure. A ‘level-4’ fire has been declared.

As a fire envelops a man from19-storey Mumbai high-rise unit, clings to a balcony ledge in a desperate attempt to save his life. He loses his grip and falls in the Lalbaug neighbourhood of Mumbai, where a level-4 fire was recorded in a residential complex, according to video of the incident.

After suffering a significant head injury, the man was sent to KEM Hospital in Mumbai. According to the report, he was declared ‘dead at the scene.’ In the meanwhile, 26 more people were rescued. Iqbal Singh Chahal, the BMC’s chief, has requested a probe into what happened.

At least fourteen fire engines have arrived at the One Avighna Park community in South Mumbai, where the fire broke out on the 19th floor shortly before midday. The exact cause of the fire is yet unknown.

Many people have been successfully evacuated from the 64-story building, according to Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, who has arrived at the scene.

“The fire brigade reached as soon as the news of the fire was received. Many people have been pulled out. So many people have been rescued and the efforts are still on. One man jumped off the building in panic”. Ms. Pednekar said.
