At least 5 members of late actor Sushant Singh’s extended family were killed in a road accident on Tuesday morning when the car they were traveling in collided with a truck on National Highway number 333 in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district.
The family was driving back from Bhandar village in Jamui district when their vehicle collided with a truck going the other way.
The family was returning from Patna, where they had attended the death rites of Geeta Devi, senior Haryana police officer OP Singh’s sister. Sushant Singh Rajput’s brother-in-law, OP Singh, died in questionable circumstances on June 14, 2020.
“It was a big collision between a truck and a Sumo [an SUV] in which ten individuals were returning from Patna,” Lakhisarai superintendent of police (SP) Sushil Kumar said, confirming the disaster near the renovated middle school at Pipra under Halsi police station.
“Six people were killed on the spot, including the Sumo’s driver,” he said, adding that four others were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Laljit Singh (OP Singh’s brother-in-law) and his two sons, Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh and Ram Chandra Singh, have been identified as the deceased. Baby Devi, Anita Devi, and Preetam Kumar, the driver, were the others who were identified.
