A horrific and barbarian act of crime took place when a 14 year old minor girl was brutally murdered at Kharguli area of Uzan Bazar, Guwahati Wednesday.
She was student of standard 8th of Angels of God High School, Dimpal Umapati lived with her parents in the mentioned area.
The girl was alone in the home and her parents were out when the heinous crime took place. Her body was later recovered blood-spattered by her aunt on the bed of her room.
As per the police sources, a pressure cooker and a pota guti (a grinder stone used to grind some food items like ginger, turmeric) was recovered near her body.
Police suspected that the killer used these to murder the girl.
However, Police have sealed the area and have started an investigation into the incident.
In a major breakthough, in the dastardly Uzanbazar murder of a minor yesterday, CGPD arrested accused Ashikesk Gupta, the victims cousin.
Accused admitted killing the girl, his cousin. Police also recovered her mobile & SIM card, which he hid after the murder. Accused led Police to recover them.
